IDPwD aims to increase awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability. It’s a day to celebrate the achievements and contributions of people with disability.
“When I’m out on the field in life in general, I want people to see me for me, not my disability, not for anything else, just me.” Hande
“I want people to see me as Esther. I want people to see me as a human. I don’t want people to see me as a disability. When I am in a wheelchair, I don’t want people to see the wheelchair – I want people to see me. See me as a person.”
Esther “I just want to be included and be able to share in my own skills and have experienced the same as everybody else, so please just see me. Happy International Day of People with Disability.”
